'Score is not true reflection of the match': Komphela

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela believes his side could have won Wednesday’s TKO final, but hails Mamelodi Sundowns for being more clinical in front of goal.

Classy Sundowns found the touch in front of goal when they needed it most while Chiefs missed two crucial penalties.

Pitso Mosimane’s side capitalised from better control of the game’s key moments through more effective performance on the ball.

"I don't want to sound arrogant. The score is not the true reflection of the match. Unfortunately, the records will show that we lost 3-1. It doesn't show that we missed two penalties," Khompela told PSL official website.

"With the number of chances we had, missing two penalties as well, the difference between the two teams was being clinical when a chance prevailed itself.

"I strongly believe the match could have ended 5-3 in our favour. It was one of those days. It's painful but we have to dust ourselves off," he said.
