Bafana gear for Afcon spot

SUDAN will host Bafana in Khartoum on Friday September 5 at 8pm, as

both begin their bid to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations.

It will be the opening match for both teams in Group A, where the top two finishers advance to the final tournament in Morocco in January.

The timing of the match offers Bafana a slight advantage for their second group game, which will be five days later against Nigeria on September 10.

Nigeria have decided to host their opening Group A game against the Congo on September 6, which means they will have 24 hours less to recover for the Bafana clash at the Cape Town Stadium.

Bafana will be going to Sudan by chartered plane on September 3 and return immediately after the match, the South African Football Association said.
