Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mandla Masango hopes to continue his blistering start to the season tonight when Bloemfontein Celtic visit FNB Stadium for an Absa Premiership fixture (7.30pm).

Masango has started off this term with a bang, scoring three goals in Chiefs' four league and cup games, which all returned victories to confirm Stuart Baxter's team as the team of the moment.

Speaking to the Chiefs website yesterday, Masango, 23, said he was enjoying his current run, after spending several years at Naturena without really living up to his early promise.

"It's going to be a completely different ball game," he said of Celtic's visit to Chiefs' fortress. "We want to keep playing well as a team. I want to do well every time when given a chance."

Masango added he was delighted with his scoring touch, which saw him score twice against Mpumalanga Black Aces in the MTN8 recently, and once against the same side in a league fixture last week.

"As a player you always want to score. And playing in front of our home support [tonight] will give us the edge over Celtic, who are also doing well," he said.

Bernard Parker and Siphiwe Tshabalala are still injured, but coach Baxter is not too worried.

"We have missed the services of Shabba, Parker and [Matthew] Rusike but the other lads have come in and plugged in the gaps superbly," the Briton said. "The game against Celtic comes at a time when we are faced with a tight schedule early in the season.

"We will field a competitive side, especially as we will be playing in our own backyard."
