WINNING a first Absa Premiership medal will change Teko Modise's life, the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder said after a starring role in his side's title-clinching 3-0 victory against SuperSport United at Loftus Versfeld on Tuesday night.

It has been an eight-year wait since making his PSL debut for SuperSport United in 2006 for Modise to win a championship medal.

"Me winning this title will change the rest of my life. I need to set new goals now. But first I've just got to celebrate it," Modise said.

The influential linkman was an integral part of Downs' title victory, to the extent he has been named as a candidate for PSL player of the season.

He was key again on Tuesday night, pulling the strings and scoring a sublime 62nd-minute goal to make it 2-0, chipping Ronwen Williams from 28m, into the top-left corner, after the SuperSport goalkeeper was caught off his line. "We know Ronwen and how he plays - he's always off his line. I took a chance and it worked," Modise said.

The talented Modise's only previous medal was in the MTN8 with Pirates in 2010.
