Chippa try another coach

CHIPPA United will give caretaker coach Farouk Abrahams a chance to prove himself and if he is able to engineer a turnaround at the struggling outfit he will get the job, says owner Siviwe Mpengesi.

"At the moment our intention is to see how he does. We need to give him a chance. If he does well, we will consider him. He has a chance to make us consider him as a permanent option."

Abrahams becomes the fourth coach to take charge of a Chippa United match this season when he leads the team against SuperSport United at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town tonight.

"A caretaker coach does not cost that much and we obviously have an agreement that if it does not work out he will stop and return to the previous services that he was delivering," Mpengesi said.

Abrahams replaced Roger Sikhakhane last week and follows in the footsteps of Manqoba Mngqithi and Julius Dube, who have also been in charge of Chippa United matches this season. Abrahams was hired as goalkeeper coach.
