Spartak whip Dynamo to go top

Nine-time winners Spartak Moscow joined reigning Russian champions Zenit StPetersburg on top of the league table after beating city rivals Dynamo 4-0.

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Zhano Ananidze, Rafael Carioca and Argentinian defender Nicolas Pareja scored to ensure Spartak's third win in as many matches.

Spartak opened after 23 minutes through Bilyaletdinov, who beat Dynamo goalkeeper Anton Shunin with a precise shot from the edge of the box.

Four minutes after the interval Pareja added his goal, beating Shunin with a well-struck 25m free-kick. Ananidze made it 3-0 with 15 minutes to go as Brazilian Carioca rounded off the scoring in the third minute of injury time.

"We were in command and dictated (terms) throughout the match," aid Spartak forward Artem Dzyuba.

"Dynamo looked slightly nervous after they lost two previous matches and concentrated their forces in defence, leaving plenty of space for our attacks."

Big-spending Anzhi Makhach-kala took third spot with a hard-fought 1-0 home win over Amkar Perm, midfielder Georgy Gabulov netting from close range in the 72nd minute.

"It was a very important win," Anzhi manager Guus Hiddink said. "Many clubs who are playing in the Euro cups often lose points in the domestic league.

"Luckily we managed to play solid football today and clinch a win in these circumstances."

Meanwhile in Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven coach Dick Advocaat and captain Mark van Bommel celebrated their return to the club with a 4-2 victory over champions Ajax Amsterdam to claim the Dutch Super Cup on Sunday.

Advocaat is back coaching in the Dutch league after 14 years with a mission to win the title and take PSV back to the Champions League, which they have not graced for four seasons.

PSV dominated from the start and took a 2-0 lead after just 11 minutes with midfielder Van Bommel, who last played for the club in 2005 before joining Barcelona, driving them forward.
