Safa brushes up on rules for Brazil 2014

AFTER Bafana Bafana failed to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations because rules were not understood, two top SA Football Association officials are in Egypt for a 2014 World Cup workshop.

Safa chief executive Robin Petersen and Bafana manager Barney Kujane are in Cairo for a two-day workshop that started at the Confederation of African Football headquarters yesterday. The timing of the workshop is important, with World Cup qualifiers being played in June.

Last year, Safa and Bafana officials misunderstood the 2012 Nations Cup rules, which had a direct bearing on the SA team failing to qualify for the tournament.
