EXPERIENCED: Former PSL general manager Andrew 'Druza' Dipela

FORMER Premier Soccer League general manager Andrew "Druza" Dipela is back in soccer at international level.

Dipela has joined the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Local Organising Committee board.

The former Seshego City Carlton and Modimolle Troublemakers winger is the chief of staff in the office of chief executive Mvuso Mbebe.

"It is true that I'm on board with the LOC but I suggest you speak to Mr Mbebe," said Dipela, who served as venue manager of Ellis Park Stadium during the 2010 World Cup.

At the end of the World Cup, Dipela went back to Modimolle Aces where he serves on the executive committee.

Other people who are on board include Songezo Nayo, Chris Coughman and commercial expert Nonhlanhla Ramikosi.

The South African Football Association has seconded the likes of Steve Pila, Russell Paul and Mlungisi Ncane to assist the LOC.

"For us the good thing is that there are many people who want to volunteer, they want to see the 2013 Afcon being a successful event," said Mbebe. "Safa has also come to the party, they have seconded staff members to serve in various capacities.

"People from Safa regional structures will also be working with us, we want our regional members to gain experience to host big events too. We are also getting some of the people who served on the LOC of the 2010 World Cup. Once we have signed contracts with all the people, I will call a media briefing to introduce my staff."
