Orlando Pirates midfielder and Botswana international Phenyo Mongala has joined Bloemfontein Celtic on loan for the season.
This was after Mongala made it clear he needs enough game-time ahead of the African Cup of Nations finals in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
“I can confirm that Phenyo will spend the next season on loan to Bloemfontein Celtic,” said Pirates’ administrative executive Floyd “Jomo’ Mbele.
“This after he asked management to put him up for loan as he wants to play regularly, which will enhance his readiness when his national team compete in the Africa Cup of Nations next year.
“Phenyo left on Wednesday afternoon to join his new team-mates. We wish him well and we hope it’s going to be a good move that will benefit all the parties involved.”
