Derby cheap seats sold out

WITH the Soweto derby "extra strong" tickets being sold out, supporters who would like to watch Saturday's Telkom Knockout final will have to dig deeper into their pockets.

This comes after the Premier Soccer League put up a "sold-out" sign on Friday for the highly anticipated match between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs at Soccer City.

"All the ordinary tickets have been sold out, which bodes well for a great final, the last one in 2010," said PSL communications manager Altaaf Kazi yesterday. "We are thrilled to announce that the R230 tickets for the non-catering suites have also been sold out, we are now left with the R750 limited catering suites.

"All the remaining hospitality suite tickets are also available at Shoprite or Checkers and Computicket outlets around the country.

"We expect the remaining hospitality tickets to be sold out too in a few days' time, the final has generated massive interest in South Africa and neighbouring countries."

Kazi also announced that they were finalising the transport plan for the final. An announcement is expected to be made today.

"We are working on a big transport plan for the final. People with valid tickets for the match will be allowed to use the the buses and trains for free," said Kazi.

Stadium Management South Africa, the company managing the iconic Soweto sports facility, said they were equally ready for an exciting final.

Chief executive Jacques Grobbelaar urged the fans to arrive early for the final, which will see red-hot Chiefs striker Knowledge "Smash and Grab" Musona coming up against Pirates' goalie Moeneeb "Slim Kat" Josephs.

Musona scored two goals against Josephs and created the third one when Chiefs beat Pirates 3-0 in an Absa Premiership match at the same venue two weeks ago.
