Document signed by Adolf Hitler on auction block

An Austrian police document signed by Adolf Hitler nearly 105 years ago is currently up for auction, according to California auction house Nate D Sanders.

The website describes the document as a change of residency filed with Viennese police by Adolf Hitler.

It is dated August 22, 1909, and lists his residence as "Room 21, 58 Sechshauserstrasse, Vienna."

As occupation the document lists writer. The owner of the auction house, Nate D Sanders, is defended his decision to auction off the memorabilia linked to the Nazi dictator, considered one of history's greatest villains.

"I think it's very heinous," Sanders said in a statement Tuesday, "but it is an auction item, it is a memento, it's a piece of memorabilia and a piece of history."

The online auction is set to end Thursday.

The minimum bid is 30,000 dollars.
