Wildlife volunteers abducted

Six volunteers for the World Wildlife Fund have been taken at gunpoint in a tiger reserve in India

Here's the report:

An official with WWF-India says that heavily armed men have kidnapped six of the group’s volunteers from a tiger reserve in India’s remote northeast.

Anupam Sharma says the three men and three women were abducted Sunday from the Manas Tiger Reserve in Assam state. Sharma says all  six volunteers are Indian.

Sharma said Monday that no one has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.

The area is a stronghold of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland, which has been fighting for decades for independence from  India.
