Cape Town police have confiscated illegal firearms that were going to be used at a "memorial service gun salute".
Officers attached to the Western Cape command centre caught wind on Tuesday that firearms would be discharged at a memorial service in Khayelitsha.
Provincial police spokesperson WO Joseph Swartbooi said officers “proceeded to the identified address”.
“Upon arrival ... they accosted a suspicious man carrying a bag.
