The trial of MTN accountant who allegedly defrauded the company R24-million has been postponed August.

Branden Ruth Moshabane, 43, a single mother from Brakpan on Johannesburg's East Rand appeared in the Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court for theft and fraud charges. Moshabane is accused of stealing R24 million while working as an MTN accountant.

5 homes, 7 cars for MTN 'thief'

Moshabane’s lawyer Pierre Smit says the case was postponed for further investigation.

Moshabane could lose her three properties valued at almost R2-million, two luxury vehicles and salary drawn from directorship positions she holds at 10 companies. The state has frozen her assets.

However, Smit says he will be challenging for Moshabane’s assets to be unfrozen in the South Gauteng High Court on July 18.
