Seven men stained with blue dye are wanted by police in connection with an armed robbery in Philippi East in Cape Town.
SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said the men‚ between 30 and 50 years old‚ fled the scene in a white bakkie.
“The suspects and the vehicle will be stained with blue dye due to the box that exploded inside their [light delivery vehicle]‚” Rwexana said.
The robbery took place in a shopping centre in the Philippi East area‚ police said.
They threatened security guards with firearms before robbing them. They fled with a cash box containing an undisclosed amount of money.
Anyone with information is asked to contact investigating officer Detective Sergeant Wagenaar on 082 7787 332. Alternatively an anonymous call can be made to Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
