Minister of Health Dr Aaron Motsoaledi will on Friday appear before and deliver the submission of the Department of Health to the health market inquiry panel set up by the Competition Commission to evaluate the state of competition and cost in the private health sector.
The minister has expressed concerns about the high cost of private health care in South Africa in line with the National Development Plan‚ Vision 2030.
The National Development Plan calls for a national health insurance to be implemented in phases‚ complemented by a reduction in the relative cost of private medical care.
