Flabba's girlfriend Sindisiwe Manqele sentenced to 12 years in prison

Sindisiwe Manqele has been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment at the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge.

Manqele was found guilty of the murder of rapper Nkululeko 'Flabba' Habedi and will now serve 12 years in prison.

Judge Solly Sithole said that the crime which Manqele was found guilty of is serious and is given death sentences in some parts of the world.

"Murder smells even to the nostrils of heaven.

"The offense you have been convicted of is one of the serious ones anywhere... it is punishable by death in other countries..," said Judge Sithole.

"In other countries in Africa they take you to the beach and get a firing squad to fire on you."

He said that Manqele should not be granted parole until she has served eight years in prison as this will give her enough time to go through the rehabilitation programmes.

Judge Sithole said that he has taken a lot of things into consideration including the fact that she was in a possessive and abusive relationship with the rapper.

He also took into consideration that she is a first time offender, did CPR on the deceased to try and revive his life and she is overall a good candidate for rehabilitation.

Manqele's defense will bring their application for bail as they intend on appealing the judgement.
