A woman was killed and nine other people injured in a collision between a bakkie and car on the N12‚ 30 kilometres outside Potchefstroom in North West on Saturday evening‚ ER24 emergency medical service reported.

“On arrival at scene‚ ER24 paramedics found a light motor vehicle and bakkie lying on the side of the road. The bakkie lay on its side after it rolled multiple times.

“On assessment‚ paramedics found the lifeless body of a woman. Unfortunately the woman had already succumbed to her multiple fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for the patient and she was declared dead on scene‚” ER24 said.

It said nine other people‚ including three children‚ aged two‚ six and 12 years‚ were injured in the accident.

“Paramedics treated the patients and provided the critically injured patients with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated‚ the patients were transported to Carletonville and Potchefstroom Hospital for urgent treatment‚” ER24 said.
