POP star Kelly Khumalo remained locked in her townhouse south of Johannesburg as thousands of people attended her boyfriend Senzo Meyiwa's memorial service some 15km awaylast Thursday.
Khumalo remained indoors all day as journalists camped outside the property hoping to get pictures of her.
The songstress has been the subject of insults on social media, with people saying she did not observe tradition by driving Meyiwa's car just hours after his death at her mother's home in Vosloorus.
Music promoter Chicco Twala's son Longwe, who is believed to be dating Khumalo's sister Zandi, was seen driving into the property in the morning.
He left later in a silver Chrysler Crossfire with a man believed to be Meyiwa's friend. Two metro police officers arrived at the property to keep an eye on proceedings as journalists climbed on car rooftops to take pictures of Meyiwa's luxury BMW X6 parked on the property.
The car has been the subject of much debate on social media, with people asking why Khumalo had driven it even though its owner had just died.
On Wednesday, Meyiwa's father Samuel told Sowetan that he would collect his son's vehicle from Khumalo.
He said custom dictates that the deceased's property should not be used until after the funeral and a period of mourning.
He said this after landing at OR Tambo International Airport on Wednesday at about 6pm.
Accompanied by his sister-in-law, Meyiwa said he was in Johannesburg to collect his son's belongings.
Meyiwa senior said he was unhappy with Khumalo's behaviour following the death of his son.
The 27-year-old was shot and killed when intruders entered Khumalo's house in Vosloorus on Sunday night.
Pictures of Khumalo driving the player's silver BMW X6 in the morning after he was killed were published by several media houses.
His father said Senzo's cars should have been left "like that".
"That lady, I do not know how she thinks because she was not even supposed to drive that car. Our custom says when someone has passed away his belongings must just stay like that.
"Nobody must drive his car. Nobody must use his things. We are collecting all his parcels, clothes and his cars, a BMW and a Golf."
Asked if he would consider forgiving Khumalo, he said: "I can forgive her if she comes and apologises. This lady likes to show off, as it is now she did not even phone me and my family just to say 'I am so sorry about what happened to your son'. Instead, she went to the media and talked about it."
Meanwhile, reports yesterday suggested that the Meyiwas had had a change of heart and announced that Khumalo could attend their son's funeral.
Eugene Mthethwa, the former Trompies star and now Creative Workers Union of SA spokesman, arrived at the property just after 4pm.
He said he had spoken to Khumalo on the phone but felt "it was impersonal".
"It was only decent enough for a record company executive to come and check on how a signed artist is doing at a time like this."
Asked about the incident, Mthethwa said: "It is not for me to be judgmental. It is an unfortunate situation that was not planned ."
He was still inside the property late in the afternoon yesterday.
