Cape Town international airport ready for the schools opening

Airports Company South Africa, Cape Town International Airport (ACSA CTIA), continually aims to ensure that users have a pleasant experience at the airport.

With schools opening, the airport is ready to welcome families and students. Measures have been put in place to make sure that there is a smooth transition through our airport and it is our business to ensure that they reach their destination without any difficulties.

“Our staff is committed and dedicated to providing a world class service to those visiting our airport by ensuring passengers have a safe journey,” says Deborah Francis, Cape Town International Airport's acting Communication Manager. “To protect our airport users from the weather elements, especially at present with the winter rains, we have put covering over all walkways from the car rental collection and drop-off area to the car rental buildings, as well as over the drop-off area carports,” added Francis.

The airport urges passengers to arrive early for the check-in process and also take advantage of the online check-in offered by their airline. Passengers who've used the online check-in service are asked to allow for enough time to drop off their luggage with their airlines. Passengers checking in at the airport are reminded of the one and a half hours arrival time for Domestic check-in processes and two and a half hours early for International departures. “During peak period, systems are put in place to ensure that the check-in areas as well as security check points for both domestic and international passengers are managed efficiently and there are enough resources at hand.” Francis concluded.

Passengers are advised to please not pack valuable items in the check-in luggage. Travelers with lost, pilfered or damaged luggage should report this immediately to their airline prior to leaving the airport. Cape Town International Airport also offers a baggage wrap service.
