No arrests over girl's brutal attack

LIMPOPO police say there have been no arrests in the brutal attack and possible rape of a five-year-old girl from Capricorn Park village in Morebeng (formerly Soekmekaar) two weeks ago.

Limpopo police spokeswoman Lieutenant-Colonel Ronel Otto says investigations are still continuing.

She adds that the girl is still in a stable condition at Polokwane Hospital.

The Grade R pupil was allegedly abducted and assaulted while walking home alone. She was left for dead and found three days later after a search by members of the community.

She had injuries to her genitals, head, legs and other parts of the body. - monamat@sowetan.co.za
