IN SOWETAN on August 7, we published an article headlined "R8m for doing nothing", indicating that the Limpopo department of roads and transport had paid monies to companies awarded tenders for patching potholes despite the work not having been done.
The story was based on a draft report by the auditor-general in Limpopo, dated March 31.
It has since emerged that the final report has not found any wrongdoing on the part of the department and its head, Ntau Letebele.
We apologise for any harm that may have caused to Letebele and his department.
