MORE Mamelodi Sundowns fans are expected to land in police cells this week following the arrest of two club supporters accused of trashing the Dobsonville Stadium last week.
A 32-year-old man of Mamelodi, outside Pretoria and a 38-year-old man of Katlehong on the East Rand, were arrested on Saturday and yesterday respectively, following a police manhunt of the violent supporters who went on a rampage after Sundowns lost to Moroka Swallows in an Absa Premiership League (PSL) match.
The Mamelodi man was arrested at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville where he had gone to watch a game between Sundowns and Platinum Stars on Saturday evening. While the Katlehong man was arrested at his house yesterday.
Both men are scheduled to appear in Protea Magistrate's Court tomorrow, police spokesman Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.
The PSL opened cases of malicious damage to property, entering designated area illegally, throwing of dangerous objects, failing to comply with the lawful request or directive given by the police official or security officer and engaging in a delinquent or anti-social behaviour inside the stadium.
