A 32-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested for allegedly raping his mother at Diphagane village near Jane Furse in Limpopo
The incident took place on Wednesday night while the 65-year-old woman was sleeping.
Constable Thapelo Lesufi said yesterday: "We were told that the suspect demanded to get under his mother's blankets."
He said when the woman screamed, her son grabbed her by the throat, overpowered and raped her.
It is alleged the woman was rescued by her granddaughter, who went to investigate the screaming.
"The rapist escaped through a window when the girl entered the room," Lesufi said.
Lesufi said investigations were continuing and that the man would appear in the Nebo Magistrate's Court "soon".
