THE Western Cape education department says it will not take action against a Cape Town high school principal who allegedly seriously assaulted a Matric pupil.
Chris Hani High School principal Madoda Mahlutshane and two private security guards allegedly seriously assaulted Malibongwe Melani last month.
Malibongwe is currently in a serious condition at Tygerberg Hospital.
The department said: "We have studied all evidence and found no grounds for charging Mahlutshane with misconduct."
