School a 'ticking time bomb'

Ironically, the school is situated a stone's throw from the home of ANCYL president Julius Malema

PUPILS at Phishego Primary School in Seshego, near Polokwane, Limpopo, are sitting on a time bomb.

The pupils are forced to attend classes under roofs that could cave in on them. The roof is asbestos, which has been declared a health hazard.

Ironically, the school is situated a stone's throw from the home of ANCYL president Julius Malema.

According to principal Mmaditsela Sebotja, several letters had been written to the department, followed by visits by officials, but nothing had been done about the situation at the school.

The department's Pat Kgomo said yesterday the school was on their list of schools that would be renovated next year.
