Drag racing trial set to continue

Themba Tshabalala, co-accused with Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye of the murders of four schoolchildren, arrived at the Protea Magistrate’s Court this morning. Maarohanye was expected to appear too.

They were allegedly drag racing their Mini Coopers last year when they crashed into a group of teenagers on their way home from school.

Andile Mtombeni, 19, Phomelelo Masemelo, 16, Mlungisi Cwayi, and Prince Mahube, both aged 17, were killed.

Fumani Mushanana and Frank Mlabo suffered serious injuries including brain damage.

The pair face 10 charges, including murder and driving under the  influence of drugs.
