The O'Jays will be in the country to share their soulful, R&B vibes at the Free State's annual Mangaung African Cultural Festival (Macufe).
They will take their fans down memory lane when they appear at the festival on October 10.
Their ballads Forever Mine, Stairway To Heaven, She Used To Be My Girl, Love Train, Back Stabbers, We Cried Together, Brandy, Love Train and Ship Ahoyhave made the O'Jays the darlings of romantics.
They were last in the country in the 1980s when they packed out Orlando Stadium.
Billed as the O'Jays Sunshine Tour, the vintage boys are still going strong and will appear at Cape Town's Good Hope Centre on October 13.
This world-class act then heads for Jozi's Coca-Cola Dome on October 14.
The five original members - Eddie Levert, Walter Williams, William Powell, Bill Isles and Bobby Massey - were inspired to start a group after seeing Frankie Lymon perform.
They first called themselves The Triumphs, then the Mascots before finally renaming themselves the O'Jays.
