Lungisa is a man of talents

ANDILE Lungisa, chairperson of National Youth Development Agency and deputy president of the ANC Youth League, is a man of many talents.

ANDILE Lungisa, chairperson of National Youth Development Agency and deputy president of the ANC Youth League, is a man of many talents.

He is also Vice President of the Pan African Youth Union in the Southern African Development Community region.

Born and bred in Tsomo in the Eastern Cape, Lungisa is a man with a mission. His political activism started in the early 1990s. At the tender age of 13, Cosas introduced him to the world of politics.

In 1998, he started an ANC Youth League's City Central branch in the western suburbs of Port Elizabeth and became a branch executive. Three years later he was elected deputy chairperson of the league in the Nelson Mandela region. Lungisa was elected deputy president of the league last year.

A published playwright and poet, in 2005 Lungisa won the Herald Citizen of the Year in arts and culture for going the extra mile to promote arts in Nelson Mandela Bay.
