Another chance for young artists to showcase talents
Once again, the National Eisteddfod Academy (NEA) Awards are searching for best young performers in music, dance and drama to compete and showcase their talent.
Since inception in 2004 the NEA Awards have grown and given many people a platform to shine.
Francois van den Berg, chief executive officer of NEA, said the awards provided a platform for the best young artists to compete.
"We are calling for entries for this year's annual NEA Awards. The ceremony will take place on May 16," Van den Berg said.
He said a limited number of participants would be featured during the judging process. He said these would be invited daily during each session to be in the quarterfinal.
The NEA is a non-profit organisation that was established to create opportunities for youths to experience the magic of the performing arts.
The panel of adjudicators for the event comprises top artists and teachers in various disciplines.
"The NEA will select 10 to 20 finalists based on results of the semifinal events to take part in the final event on May 16.
"Adjudicators will expect from each participant an outstanding and true performance that displays originality and spark," said Van den Berg.
