IFP gave ANC taste of its own Cope medicine

The ANC is crying foul about political intolerance now that they have met their match in the IFP at Nongoma. Every time Cope had a rally in a specific area, the ANC held one nearby and their supporters harassed and intimidated Cope and their supporters.

The ANC is crying foul about political intolerance now that they have met their match in the IFP at Nongoma. Every time Cope had a rally in a specific area, the ANC held one nearby and their supporters harassed and intimidated Cope and their supporters.

Cope complained about the malicious strategy, aimed at disorganising and weakening it. The ANC continued violating Cope's right to campaign freely. And now that their archaic, despicable strategy has backfired, they claim that the IFP has infringed on their right to freedom of movement and association.

What double standards. Cope made it clear from the onset that the intimidation would sow political intolerance and violence. The ANC dismissed it as complete trash. You reap what you sow, ANC. You will have to clean up your mess and ensure that the elections are conducted peacefully.

Your arrogance will be your downfall. Gwede Mantashe's statement that they will hold a follow-up rally in Nongoma before the polls is ill-timed. It will never repair the ANC's dented image. In fact, it borders on disappointment and revenge.

ANC, wake up before the violence balloons out of control. Do the right thing for the sake of our beautiful South Africa. We can't afford a repeat of the pre-1994 black-on-black violence. The ANC has triggered intolerance by paranoia at Cope's successes.
