Senaoane Gunners goalkeeper Thabang Radebe was on cloud nine after saving three penalties to bag the Philips Men's Cup final at the Klipspruit grounds in Pimville at the weekend for his side.

Gunners beat Mofolo BT Stars 3-2 in a penalty shootout.

"I'm happy we won and I'm also pleased with saving three penalties. I was at my best and I enjoyed every minute of the game.

"The players were upbeat since the week started and we played as a unit. But this is no time to relax. We must improve certain positions," he said.

BT Stars midfielder Aubrey Tshikulumela who missed a telling penalty that cost his side the game said they were unfortunate to lose as they were the better team.

"I was on top of my game but at the end I was the most disappointed when I missed the penalty. But it's one of those things," he said.

Tshikulumela was voted best player of the tournament for his outstanding display.

The game was exciting from the opening whistle with both sides producing good football.

BT Stars were the better of the two. But Gunners came back strongly in the second half forcing the game into extra time and later to penalties.

Themba Mutwa, Mpumi Swaartbooi and Mzwandile Sigasa converted for Gunners while BT Stars scorers were Sakhile Phillips and and Mbuso Radebe.

Other champions at the tournament were: PCO Young Ones for Under-11; All Blacks for Under-13; Under-15 Crystal FC; Under-17: Diepkloof Hellenic; Under-19 Jomo Cosmos.
