Started last year by Ross McCreath, a 14-year-old a farmer's son and pupil at St Andrews College in Grahamstown, the club caters for his black counterparts from the nearby township of Bathurst in the Eastern Cape.
Though they were pipped by Free State's Welkom Wrestling Club, which scooped the R500000 first prize - over five years - the Titans are a rising force in the Eastern Cape.
McCreath, assisted by 21-year-old professional coach Mduduzi Mkalipi, 69-year-old veteran cricketer Gladman Xali and some three dozen colleagues at Titans, has started competing in local leagues.
This respected sporting accolade honours the leadership, motivational and inspirational legacy of former Murray and Roberts director and 1950s South African cricket team captain, Jack Cheetham.
One of his rare attributes was the ability to instil in others, especially the youth, the spirit to be winners in all endeavours, particularly sport.
The award is driven by Murray and Roberts, the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee and Sowetan, which has made it part of the youth development activities of the Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation. - Victor Mecoamere
