Pollock gets top award
The Proteas' Shaun Pollock was among four South African cricketers who received special awards at the yearly Castrol Awards for Cricketing Excellence at a glittering function in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
The seam bowler and right-handed batsman won the Castrol best all-rounder performance award. He was honoured with the retired Gary Kirsten (best batting), Allan Donald (best bowling) and Jonty Rhodes (best fielder).
The quartet put on superb performances against India in the last 15 years.
Naveen Kshatriya, managing director of Castrol India, said: "It has been 15 years since SA returned to international cricket and we thought it would be a nice way to commemorate this occasion by having the awards in South Africa."
