Celebs on the ball for cancer

The country's hottest celebrities are taking to the netball court.

This is part of Brutal Fruit National Netball League's fund-raising campaigns.

The annual celebrity game will this year feature the likes of Minnie Dlamini, Jessica Nkosi, Lalla Hirayama, Roxy Burger, Pearl Modiadie, Luthando "Lootlove" Shosha and Amanda du Pont.

Shosha, who played in last year's game, says she is happy to play again.

"I played netball in high school. I enjoy the game but it can get really competitive," she says. The match on Wednesday will raise breast cancer awareness and feature Proteas players.

"It's a great initiative because I'd rather be running around raising awareness than be popping bottles," says Shosha.

Simi Mdaka, a former national player and now TV analyst, says she was impressed with Shosha and actress Khanya Mkhangisa at last year's game.

"Shosha looked like she played netball for years," says Mdaka.
