SHE is a highly talented dancer and singer. Tina Mkwaiwa is one of the most sought-after entertainers in South Africa, who has titillated fans with her alluring dance moves and beautiful body. She recently released her third album, Diva on the Loose: Tina.

Married to serial playboy Prosper Mkwaiwa, Tina, whose real name is Fezile, hails from Amalinda, a suburb of East London. We asked her about her home town.

What do you like about East London?

"It is warm and the people are friendly and real. You can be yourself away from all the cosmetic Joburg life and personalities."

What is your favourite restaurants in East London and why?

"I love Smokey Swallows Restaurant in Beacon Bay. They have lovely seafood, they offer a fine dining experience and fresh quality ingredients."

Your favourite nightspot in East London and why?

"Hemingways Casino all the way! Here I can dine, shop and party the night away. It is close to my mom's place. I can walk without being getting arrested after having a drink or two."

Where do you go for shopping when you are there and why?

"Vincent Mall is the 'it' place. This is where you can bump into your high school friends or ex. When I am home I always bump into my old friends who are also in East London for holidays."

Favourite hotel or B&B in East London and why?

"Prana Lounge on the beach front. I am a regular there."

What makes East London great?

"East London is Transkei's biggest city. Everyone shops here. Transkei people are the most interesting crowd. They are very comfortable with themselves. You can see a highly educated woman walking with her baby on her back. East London is where the joy is. You can walk on the beach with your shorts without feeling that you are too fat or too thin."

Where do you chill with your friends when in East London?

"I love Mdantsane, Scenery Park and Ziphunzana. These places have a unique kasi vibe. It is always refreshing to be at home and listening to the pure Xhosa language. It is amazing."

What's your favourite tshisanyama in East London?

"Mam' Uyandichaza is the place to be. They have the hottest guys, from coconuts to BEEs. They serve fresh meat and the place is safe.

Where would you take a tourist for entertainment and why?

"For a quiet time I would take them to Kids Beach, though it is still very uncomfortable for black people, because every black person they see is a suspect."
