Diabetes now affect kids too

THERE are actually two types of diabetes, or "sugar" diabetes. One you inherit from your family and is called Type I or juvenile diabetes. Children who develop this form of diabetes have a problem because their pancreas stops making insulin.

The other is Type II or "adult onset" diabetes and it affects many overweight people.

Their bodies no longer respond to insulin because of their poor eating habits. Unfortunately, this type of diabetes also affects children today - because of the problem of obesity in young people. This is another reason to eat well and exercise. - factmonster.com; kidshealth.org; thinkquest.org
