Videos for heroes

AWARD-WINNING youth and lifestyle television show Big Up is back for a third season.

Presented by Tshepo Mosese, aka Howza, the new season will take viewers deep into the hearts of young South Africans who selflessly serve their communities.

Big Up is all about capturing the work that young community builders do through a music video.

Viewers get to see these Good Samaritans being celebrated in the latest music videos of their favourite musicians.

Each episode features the making of a funky music video by a popular artist and incorporates various imagery to illustrate the rich lives of young, spiritually empowered South Africans, who are making a difference.

The culmination of each episode is the playing of the actual music video and the behind-the-scenes process of the making of the video.

Created by well-known television producer Thokozani Nkosi, season three will not only entertain music lovers, but will also inspire fans by featuring young South Africans as the stars of the music videos, as a way to say Big Up to them.

"The phrase Big Up is a street slang reference to the words well done, we salute you, said Nkosi.

"There are few as deserving of this accolade as the local heroes we are featuring in season three.

"These youngsters will leave you amazed at how dedicated they are to their spirituality and at building their communities.

"We will be featuring amazing stories because the work of these local heroes will be contained within the music video of a hit song dedicated to the featured community builder by the star who sings the song," he said.

Big Up has won two Safta's.
