It may have dominated the charts in December but it seems there’s still no stopping Umsindo.

Just three months after releasing the music video for Umsindo‚ Durban’s Finest are celebrating the video accumulating over one million views on YouTube.

The milestone was reached this week and saw the track trend on social media on Wednesday.

The track‚ which features Kalawa Jazmee’s Professor was a major hit in 2016‚ and filled festive season dance floors.

The group’s DJ Tira said that he was not surprised by its success.

“The track just keeps getting bigger and bigger. We knew when we recorded it that it would be a big song and we have been so happy with its success‚” Tira told TshisaLIVE.

Tira said that the success of the song was down to its ability to make people dance.

“I think people like it because it is a great noise. It is a song that makes people happy and makes them want to dance. We’ve always aimed to make music for the people and we are so happy that the people have shown their appreciation by watching the video so much‚” Tira said.

He said that reaching the milestone was especially sweet given the fact that the group’s album had recently been certified gold. According to the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) a record is certified gold when it sells over 15‚000 copies.

Twitter goes crazy over AKA’s Warmbaths clapback

The video’s race to a million follows Babes Wodumo’s record YouTube run late last year‚ which saw her hit track Wololo accumulate over two million views within three months of its release.

Six months after its release‚ the video for Wololo currently has over four million views on YouTube.
