Emtee is 2016's award king

Move over Cassper‚ there’s a new awards show king in town!

If 2015 was the year that Cassper seemed to win all the awards‚ 2016 must go down as the year that Emtee snatched that crown from Cassper’s head.

The artist has won seven major awards this year and walked away with big prizes at three of the year’s biggest music awards: the Metro FM Awards‚ the South African Music Awards and the MTV MAMAs.

The Metro FM Awards

Emtee started off the year by walking away with no less than four Metro FM awards‚ for Best Music Video‚ Best Hip Hop Album‚ Best Remix and the Listener’s Choice Award. He also walked away with R400‚000 in prize money.

The SAMAS

Next up was the prestigious South African Music Awards‚ where Emtee continued his hot streak with a Best Rap album gong and the Record of the Year award.

The MAMAs

He then completed his Best Hip Hop clean sweep with a win in the category at the 2016 MTV MAMAs in October.

Besides these‚ Emtee was also nominated for an American BET in the Prestigious Viewer’s Choice category.
