Kim Kardashian West has thanked Pharrell Williams and his wife Helen Lasichanh for saving her life after her dress caught fire after the CFDA Fashion Awards last night (01.06.15).

The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star was left in a tricky situation when the feathers on her gown caught fire after the CFDA Fashion Awards last night (01.06.15).

Taking to Instagram, alongside a picture of her, husband Kanye West, Pharrell and his wife Helen Lasichanh, Kim wrote: ''Shout out to Pharrell & Helen who saved my life last night! LOL After the awards at dinner the feathers of my dress caught on fire from a candle & they jumped on me to get it out! #WereOn (sic)'' During the ceremony, Kanye was on hand to pass the award for fashion icon to the 'Happy' hitmaker.

Giving Pharrell an introduction, the 'Bound 2' rapper said: ''It is very difficult to break perception. Fashion had to be the hardest high school I ever entered. At least I had a big brother [Pharrell, who] talked me through it and kept me going ... my style idol.''

In his acceptance speech, the 42-year-old record producer thanked a number of his own fashion icons before adding, ''I'm not a style icon. I'm just inspired. And I'm OK with that.''
