Movie review - Not another Hangover

If you saw the first two movies of the Hangover franchise you will be familiar with the formula. Four guys set out on a holiday - and then things go wrong.

Both films were largely about the characters trying to recall what happened the night before as they find themselves in sticky situations, thanks to a wild night of drinking and taking drugs.

As with the first two movies, Hangover 3 ends with a wedding but there's a slight departure from the formula. The film starts with Leslie Chow, the so-called Wolfpack's dodgy Asian friend, staging an escape from a prison in Bangkok. Meanwhile, Zach Galifianakis's character Alan, has bought himself a giraffe. While driving with it on a freeway, the giraffe is beheaded as he drives under a bridge. This causes a huge accident. While trying to speak to him about owning up, which he never does, Alan's father dies of a heart attack, prompting the Wolfpack to intervene. The plan is to take Alan to a rehab centre but as the Wolfpack drives there, they are rammed off the road by a gang led by Marshall, played by John Goodman - and things get even more hectic from then on. There are a few giggles, but this instalment fails to match the first two.
