Tuck into dishes most South Africans enjoy

INGREDIENTS:

2 onions, finely sliced

2 carrots, grated

100g cabbage, very finely sliced

3 large green jalapeno peppers, sliced

5ml paprika

5ml turmeric

15ml curry powder

4 tomatoes, chopped

50ml sugar

50ml white wine vinegar

METHOD:

In a large saucepan, saute the onions in a little oil until soft.

Add the carrots, cabbage, jalapenos, paprika, turmeric and curry powder.

Sauté until the cabbage is cooked, then add the tomatoes, sugar, white wine vinegar and 30ml water.

Simmer for 10 minutes, then bottle in sterilised jars.
