HIP-HOP duo Jozi are expecting a bumper month for March.

Their reality show, Moving The City, has been nominated for the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) and South African Film and Television Awards (Safta).

Jozi is made up of  Da LES and Ishmael Morabe, who is known popularly as Ish.

Moving The City is an eight-part reality show focusing on their lives as they travel across Africa in search of new sounds for their album.

Speaking on behalf of the band, Ish said after winning the 2007 MTV Award in Nigeria for the Best Live Act, their presence has grown across Africa and that the latest nominations are an affirmation of this.

"This is great for both Jozi and Muthaland (their recording company). We thought that the show was not shot well at the time, but the drama really brought out storylines," he said.

The owner of Muthaland Entertainment, Lance Stehr, said regardless of the obstacles, they are looking forward to both ceremonies. "We had to sell my house to raise money for the production of this show," Stehr said.

The AMVCAs will take place in Lagos, Nigeria, on March 8 and 9, and the Saftas at Gallagher Estate in Midrand on March 15 and 16. - mashiloanec@timesmedia.co.za
