Crazy year in entertainment

2012 has been a very eventful year in the entertainment industry. With self-proclaimed queen of bling Khanyi Mbau failing to make a comeback and Dineo Ranaka announcing her departure from radio to Zamajobe Sithole allegedly losing her Kensington home due to arrears in bond repayments, these stories stood out and were on everyone's lips for weeks:

  • She came into the industry as the soft-spoken soulful singer with a deep message in her songs. But Simphiwe Dana has been linked to pastor Lucky Tshabalala, of the Twins fame, who was allegedly arrested on fraud charges.

Her involvement with the married man shocked many of her fans.

Amid these revelation, there was talk that Dana is a lesbian after businesswoman Lebo Keswa claimed Dana was her live-in partner.

  • Actress and wedding planner Sophie Ndaba surprised all when she splashed her "new Bishop partner" on magazine covers. Little did she know she had opened a can of worms with Bishop Keith Harrington when skeletons came out of his closet.

Eventually Ndaba split from Harrington.

  • The rise and fall of Uyanda Mbuli has a nice ring to it as a documentary title. The model turned fashion designer, who later climbed the corporate ladder has fallen on hard times.

Her ongoing divorce from husband Sisa Mbuli was the beginning of the beauty's troubles. She lost her Diamond Face Couture boutique in Rosebank and had to move out of her marital home.

She still drives her Porsche, but how she maintains her lifestyle is a mystery as she is allegedly "jobless".

  • This is one of those stories of forbidden love. Singer Kelly Khumalo who is famously known for saying she's a virgin, made a startling confession when she said she was a drug addict. She blamed the father of her two-year-old son Christian, Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye.

But it was later revealed this was a strategy to revive her career.
