Rapper accused of threatening teen with a knife

'Public Enemy': Some stepfather he's going to be!

Flavor Flav has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

The rapper and reality TV star was detained by officers in Las Vegas in the early hours of yesterday morning (17.10.12) after allegedly threatening his fiancee's teenage son with a knife.

Reports say Flavor - real name William Drayton Jr. - got into a physical argument with his partner, Liz, who then called emergency services after her son stepped in.

A police statement said: "The caller advised she had been involved in a physical altercation with her fiance, who was identified as William Drayton."

The '911 is a Joke' rapper was taken from the house, in a residential neighbourhood several miles southwest of the Las Vegas Strip, into police custody at around 3am.

Flavor is now being held on $23,000 bail at Clark County jail, with an initial court appearance scheduled for today (18.10.12). It is not clear if he has a lawyer.

Earlier this month it was announced Flavor's group, Public Enemy, are among nominees for the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

If chosen they will become only the fourth hip-hop group in history to be inducted, alongside Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run-DMC and Beastie Boys.
