Generations actor stays mum on soapie sacking

GENERATIONS actor Dumisani Mbebe has gone to ground following weekend reports that he had been fired from the country's favourite soapie.

The Sunday World reported that Mbebe was fired from the SABC1 soapie after allegedly missing shoots because of "personal problems".

A source told the paper that Mbebe was booted out after a string of verbal warnings. It is expected that his character will be killed off.

The source also said Mbebe would sometimes not pitch up for shoots or arrive late. But his arrogance allegedly sealed his fate. There were also claims that Mbebe arrived for work drunk.

The Sunday World called him for comment but his fiance said he was driving and would call them back. Later his phone was off.

Yesterday, several calls and SMSes to Mbebe went unanswered.

Generations production manager Costas Garvier confirmed to Sunday World that Mbebe had left the soapie but refused to give further details.
