Angie brings the house down

WE GIRLS love free things even if they are not VIP - don't repeat this. But we did not get VIP tickets to Angie Stone's concert because the event organiser said she forgot about inviting certain newspapers.

The concert was at The Dome and, wow, did it sizzle. But we must add that the event was not well attended. This might just have something to do with certain people forgetting other folks. Let's move on.

The show went on and we boogied.

I did not get to see Liquideep, who have been nominated for MTV Music Awards Song of the Year 2010, because most of us Africans were late as usual.

But I did hear that the curtain-raisers did a great job - so keep it up.

Theo Kgosinkwe also performed at the event. I love his music and he continues to deliver, but dude, stop trying too hard. What's up with your pulling an Usher act, trying to get a girl on stage to dance with you? Leave that madness to Usher - he can get away with it.

Thank goodness for Ringo. We loved his collaboration with Thandiswa and felt sorry for her when he left while the audience was still asking for more.

Then the venue came alive and Angie Stone tore the roof off.

She even sang a happy birthday song for her husband. Angie looked great in that shiny suit and maybe Thandiswa is trying to look like her. Angie, you rocked. But your husband should have been with us girls since he is so handsome - he reminded us of Brian McKnight. Maybe we should sing too. We loved how you serenaded him and hope your behind was not too heavy.
