Peter Mokaba is in demand

THE state-of-the-art Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane is fast becoming the busiest of the 2010 Fifa World Cup match venues.

This comes after Free State Stars top brass reached an agreement with the City of Polokwane municipality to use the facility.

The rejuvenated Ea Lla Koto are taking a high-profile Absa Premiership match against log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns to the famous Polokwane venue on February 19.

"We are still awaiting an approval from the Premier Soccer League but do not anticipate problems as it's a World Cup match venue," said Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena yesterday.

"Going to Limpopo is part of our new marketing strategy to promote the club throughout the country and the days of Stars being a Free State club are over.

"We have players who are from all over South Africa and neighbouring countries, which will help us a great deal for people in other provinces to associate with Stars.

"It goes without saying that we are one of the fastest growing clubs in terms of support base. The Red Army (Stars' fans) base is looking good now and we are encouraged" Mokoena said.
