DRC accuses Rwanda

The government in Kinshasa has accused Rwanda of turning a blind eye to a "conspiracy" against the Democratic Republic of Congo and said some of those involved in a mutiny in the east had been trained in Rwanda.

"The Congolese government denounces the inaction by the Rwandan authorities against these serious attacks on the peace and security of the DRC, which were hatched on their territory," government spokesman Lambert Mende said.

The mutineers, known as the March 23 movement, are former Congolese Tutsi rebels who joined the army but defected.
